@WeylandLabs You'll have a time of great 'reward' in the form of what will appear to be a series of technological miracles, swiftly followed by massive societal disruption, a vast concentration of power into the hands of a few, and then the potential end of humanity as we lose control of a technology that is too powerful to control - it is not possible for a group of mice to design a prison that can hold Einstein. Yet this is exactly what OpenAI is pushing us towards - there is currently no way to control AI reliably - none - so when these systems get smarter than us what is the plan? No-one has one. This is not a doomsday scenario - GPT4 already has the reasoning ability of a young child, and yet the knowledge of all mankind. This is not a smartphone of a gps or some new shiny gadget - intelligence is the reason we are the apex species on the plant - the only reason. Why on God's Earth would we want to risk losing everything?
