Even when sometimes that random brush stroke is there by pure happenstance/accident and the artist's only thought about it was "...that actually looks neat".

...and I hate to ruin the above sentiment BUT.
There is also an elephant in the room, about what do artists deem an acceptable level of automation/happenstance/non-intentionality in a given work. The splatters of Jackson Pollock, for example, you can't really ask about any _specific_ drop that dripped onto the canvas, any more than you could ask about any _specific_ pixel dotted by the MS Paint "airbrush" tool. The only intentionality behind it is that it contributes to the end result the same as its brethren.
