Lower interest rates will stimulate speculative investment (ie crypto) as well as investment in interest rate sensitive industries (real estate, automotive, durable goods). Real estate investment will lead to higher land prices which will lead to higher rents which will lead to higher COL for laborers. The result of this will be a gradual rise in inflation and a gradual rise in interest rates. Either a crisis develops in the financial industry (most likely outcome) or a new equilibrium is found in the market. People seriously underestimate the need for real estate development; we are short millions of homes. Not only that, but there is tremendous opportunities in creating new play spaces for those with income- think amusement parks or revitalized malls / downtowns with fresh attractions. Gen AI also has the potential to enhance media production. We should expect that over the next few years that nearly all businesses will have a richer media production / marketing strategy. We should expect the intensification of “speciality”donut shops, coffee shops, cup cake shops, etc and a reduction in commodity stores such as generic Donut stops. (ie - we should expect future intensification of private equity and corporation investment ownership of retail spaces); nonetheless we should also expect an explosion of brands (image Starbucks surviving as corporation but each individual shop having its own brand and their its own marketing effort to sell consumers on the “unique” experience of their coffee shop in the “revitalized” downtown that has a roller coaster built into a public plaza all with the goal to draw traffic)
