It’s not because the physics of recoil wouldn’t affect the robot. The recoil physics happen regardless, but a robot could be programmed to adjust the aim, to account for this, but it wouldn’t necessarily hold it perfectly still. What you are thinking of is a gun in concrete and like someone pulling a string to hold the trigger down
