This is all about misuse of a tool, akin to the classic concept of "blowback"
from wiki: Originally, blowback was CIA internal coinage denoting the unintended, harmful consequences when a given weapon (here, we could say 'when a given tool') is used beyond the purpose intended by the party supplying it.
