Right now, oligarchs are dismantling the social safety net, no food stamps, no Wics, no Medicaid, no health insurance. Soon, there will be a reduction in social security retirement, SSI will be restricted, disability will be retooled and restricted, survivors, VA benefits, anything that is paid from the government will be reduced. So any mention of a Universal Basic Income will be fought against, as oligarchs look at these benefits as Socialism. Why? The basis of the program was a person worked, paid taxes, and when retired they were paid, if a person passed away his widow(er) and kids were paid benefits, if a person didn't work long enough they got SSI. So, if these benefits are eventually reduced and phased out to become UBI, where is the incentive to work at all? This thing of using Ai to "help" mankind depends on who is being helped. Tech bros oligarchs so far are the only folks making a mint. Meanwhile, folks are being laid off left and right with no opportunity to get another job. Whole companies are being hollowed out. So far no one has said let's replace that lost income with UBI. No one that's who. Example: think they are using Ai to diagnose, and advise treatment recommendations for diseases. Well I got a diagnostic test, and they asked me if I wanted the Ai to read the films, I said no. Ai is buggy, only as intelligent as the person who wrote the algorithm that controls it, and it doesn't always rate, rank, and use the most relevant medical study like a Dr would.
