That may not be necessary for AIs to become dangerous for us. He explained in several of his talks and interviews, that for example autonomous AI agents need to create subgoals to achieve a goal, and a very effective subgoal is get more control. Especially with a superintelligence, it or they may take actions that we can't anticipate or phatom. Currently, already, AI models when specifically tested for it, also sometimes show deception and self preservation.
