@sydneyshields111 It's not a problem to be solved by private corporations. The whole point of government is to regulate private companies especially at times like this. Besides, this is a multifactor issue invoving geopolitics, national security, etc. It cannot be the responsibility of private AI companies to do anything other than what they're designed for: maximizing profit. That basic misunderstanding is the cause of so many bad decisions. You and her are barking up the wrong tree. Maybe spend less time studying "rhetorical devices" and more time studying business and politics. Take your concerns to Trump, not Deepmind. All of this sounds like deflection to me: you can't influence the government so you spend all your energy harassing anyone who'll listen instead.
UBI and reskilling is the ultimate and, only real solution, to the resultant job insecurity. And it can only be done by government, this isn't some kind of insurmountably complicted issue. And its been said by many CEOs of AI companies, including Demis. There's simply not enough political will. Instead, people are rushing to remove social saftey nets. Theres no cure to idiocy.
