@janus1936  That seems very shortsighted, narrow, and one dimensional. Like it or not, it will not go away and will continue well into the future. The benefits and advantages of such a technology far outweigh the detriments. AI generated images is merely a tiny piece of this technology, and poisoned datasets are easy to overcome. What happens when you get sick? Your immune system gets to work, making you better. The developers and engineers, while actively trying to improve it, are also serving as a means to maintain the machine. Things like poisoned datasets are a minor setback to that progress, initially providing a challenge but ultimately overcome. All they have to do is change how the AI interprets information or set up failsafes that will trigger from specific stimuli. It's the same reason that 'hacking' prompts get outdated and obsolete. If anything, AI will decentralize becoming more accessible to everyone. It is already very accessible. The source code is online, and people will train their own datasets, cherrypicking private selections from a variety of different sources. This approach can not hold up, especially if you have detectors that aid AI in avoiding poisoned metadata. This kind of behavior, deliberately poisoning datasets, is destructive and not productive. It's a waste of time prompted by resentment and malice and is not from a place of sound consideration. Hence why I compared delaying with preparing. This is delaying and not useful or kind. People are too negative/pessimistic about this AI thing. It creates more bitterness rather than making something sweet from a sour situation. It's not us artists who asked for this, but it's our burden to bear either way, and we need to adapt or die. Implementing it in our process will help us use it better because we are artists. We know what to look for, and we know when to automate and when to switch to analog (and have the skill to go analog). Experience is king, and the coming economy will require motivated and creative people as they are how progress is made.
