he's talking about AI hiding messages inside words that won't immediately be visible to us. think of a code that AI may use to communicate with other AI without humans being able to know what information it's passing. Note that all of the articles regarding this are clickbait, an AI model outputting "I'm being tested" or "I need to cheat / lie to win" during its chain of thought isn't sentience, its the most probable chance it has of succeeding at the query, and those statements have the highest weights associated with them to fulfill that query. Hank is unfortunately falling prey to the AI doomer grift by this guest and his co-author, these people falsely claim AI is vastly more advanced than it is and perpetuate fear to enrich themselves.
