Deepseek showed how big the western bubble is in overvaluation and lackluster innovation with performance. i think companies are injecting AI largely for clout, but also, preserving investments. this is a money game by the ultra wealthy and they don't want to actualize their losses or risk massive collapse. By building ai dependencies in a million places, a bubble won't pop as much as it will slowly leak air. It'll extend the gravy train for big capital investments. AI is a tool that doesn't have a clear enough business case to justify its enormous over valuation. I don't think it will disappear, but what we are told what it can performantly do vs what it can ACTUALLY do (at cost) doesn't add up. The tech industry cycles through bubbles, this is just another one the cloud, blockchain, NFTs, AI hype cycles, each with tools/tech that have uses, none of which come close to the hype they were sold on except cloud, perhaps. Cloud based architecture has, by far, the clearest pitch and a long lived impact that's proven itself, but it did not, in fact, solve every conceivable business problem out there. business folks are doing the talking on all this, NOT the engineers.
