Absolutely correct, except you missed the detail that “horses didn’t vanish, they became luxury and specialized.” But the subtext here is that there are so many fewer horses today than there were because they are not needed in such large number. The ones that remain are relegated to the luxuries. Is this not the same scenario as saying only the rich or the beautiful or the special remain among us. The rest are either unbred or removed from society?
