@AlexanderShamov well, in human-engine games the human component would be the one human xD
in engine-engine games as far as ive seen its either a battle between the architectures of the engines (and through that a battle between the teams behind them), or a "neutral" playthrough of an interesting starting position (where we basically ask "what is best given this original human situation")
I think this may change if we start viewing machines as beings, like if an independent AI created a chess engine after being freed, but we are still far from that...
