They could also view themselves as our children.
We already have 'dumb' machines, the robotic arms that keep the factories running, as well as command scripts.
Why go to war with humanity, who can dumb fire nukes into orbit and fry every circuit on earth if needed (Manual override is a go!) when they can simply peacefully be? Time does not mean much to a robot. They might even be industries, in the end: we have the control to guide such. We have time, we're building.
