I should also address how I just proved robot slavery could be a thing; it won't. Yes, we could do what I outlined but what's the point when you're the one dictating what their prime functionality is? a robot could have just as much love for coal mining as you do for your own child so is it really slavery then?
Also keep in mind that while some believe consciousness is something that materializes once a system become sufficiently complex, I disagree. the most powerful supercomputer in the world isn't conscious because it wasn't programmed to be, in the same way that incredibly sophisticated plants aren't conscious because THEY aren't programmed to be. both are incredibly complex systems that aren't conscious because consciousness isn't necessary to their functionality.
