Just because something is a conjecture, and even a biased conjecture, doesn't mean it is wrong. For several years (to give a different example) many people were pointing out the several future problems that would arise due to the leftist governments in places like Brazil and Venezuela, and most were brushed off as _"irrational fears"_, but the situation did in fact get worse in these countries for exactly the reasons anticipated. This idea that people who have a different opinion then you are automatically _biased_ and therefore "wrong" is actually the fallacy, hiding your own personal biases.
