69 years ago Like the guy's saying he wants to integrate them into society. Maybe they think the best way to eventually have them be accepted, and have us feel like they're approachable is to have them look like us? I doubt people would find a stripped down version of it that looked like a wire frame or a mechanical arm from an assembly factory, approachable. And as I said, if the AI is being programmed to be a helpful member of society, there's not going to be a hidden protocol in the programming that a human being made, that turns the robot into "kill all humans" mode. In our lifetime, atleast, robots will not have human emotions therefore could not act out of revenge or malice or instinct or anything like that so unless any of the current terrorists have the intelligence to programme a killer robot AI and build the actual robot, which I highly doubt, we've got nothing to worry about.
