I just saw that Linkin Park uses AI generated animated videos, and while it looks neat, it doesn't make me go "WOW!" Like when I watch impact frames or fight scenes from Jujutsu Kaisen or Frieren. It kinda feels like AI can't distort / stylize animation in a consistent way that makes me have that "WOW!" feeling. With Linkin Parks videos, it was just a single viewing of me going "thats neat", and then forgetting it 5 minutes after watching. Even in a show like Konosuba, I still remember how well animated Aquas reaction to Kazuma ranting about her being useless is + I just went back to watch it, and noticed that the animations even detached her ponytail temporarily to emphasize her feeling of shock (How would an AI actively make such a choice?). And here we are talking 6 seconds of animation vs. 3 minutes of Linkin Park – but its still 6 seconds in a scene of two characters shouting at each other, being more memorable than 3 minutes of AI generated animation over a beloved song. Just feels like it doesn't have that same Umpfh! to it. Feels like AI art, and especially AI animation is stuck in competent mediocrity where I can't deny that it is good, but it can't seem to move beyond this sort of "thats neat" *keeps scrolling*. It's sort of like AI art and animation is made to be disposable, that it's like a TikTok dance that people go "thats neat", and then 5 minutes later, everyone has forgotten it. In these cases, I will say that artists like Nekojira, and animation studioes like CloverWorks, both have in common that their work sticks much more, because it has this umpfh! to it + The added benefit of being able to go back, and study their work in detail – whether it be Nekojiras tasteful lines and characterdesign, or ClowerWorks walking animations for Spy x Family, portraying each characters personality, through how they walk alone
