This is myopic. You need workers to introduce innovations that AI will either not or introduce ones with short term benefits and long term losses. We need strong government regulation that induced incentives. Limiting the ratio of CEO to lowest paid worker salary and profits would help both investors and workers short and long-term respectively. Other mechanism for long term economic benefits that raise all boats could also be directly built into AI and required legally. This could be a win win for everyone, but as is it will destroy workers and eventually the owners and investors as well. Market manipulation strategies like stock buybacks need to be made illegal tommorrow...this is an immiment danger because AI could reward more losers with this strategy than those more ethical and productive companies who would be successfull otherwise. AI goals should be to increase productivity and job security broadly.
