Current version of GPT will rather draw on incorrect or outdated answers, than being unable to provide one. If it continues being confidently incorrect. It will never be more than a glorified toaster.
The fact that it draws parallels between a compost heap and a nuclear bomb, is to me a display of it understanding neither. But in it's unwillingness to be at a loss of an answer, you can make it compare socks and fishing lures. ChatGPT doesnt understand nonsense, and that will make it struggle in the future. You can ask it to solve the Riemann Hypothesis, and it will fill in the gaps with incorrect information, just to provide an answer.
