I don't believe the reason to scientists came up with because that followed automaticly. In my opinion we overcame our fear because of our survival instinct. There where many predators that hunted us but they observed them flee like us (believe me they recognized equel fear for fire) and that gave enough reason to overcome our fear as opportunic species! But ... don't believe in evolution and as usual they repeated themself and only can tell lies evolution doesn't exsist God created everything!
