the funny thing is...if scaling LLMs doesn't lead to AI/AGI (most scientists agree that it won't) there are zero backup plans. It feels like we got closer but we really didn't make any progress except scaling/ throwing couple hundred billion at an acrchitecture that existed since the 90s.
