I'm a furry, and I express myself and my OCs a LOT through artworks I get of them. But I never would just use AI generated pictures of them. I don't use AI and I would only ever do it to get ideas on a perspective or pose or something to then give to an actual artist for reference. Another point is if you have a really precise picture in your head of what your OC looks like, be it details in clothing, hair or in my case, fur markings, AI can never get those right. And while a real artist will probably also not get it right on the first try, they'll send WIPs, and I can tell them about all the small details I care about. And yes, of course this costs money, but I'm more than happy to pay for a pretty pic of my OC, than paying nothing to get something that maybe remotely resembles my OC.
So yeah, that's my take. Also nice video, just stumbled upon it through YouTube recommendations :3
