the only thing AI art really has going for it is that it is free, basically costing nothing other than hard drive space and electricity during the time to render. it's a novelty tool or toy and the fun dries quickly. now on the other hand, stuff like LLMs are more useful, kinda like a dictionary or encyclopedia that you can talk and ask questions to. but past that, you have to try and "find" a use or reason to use it. (having played with DeepSeek R1 locally, i asked why we can't go faster than the speed of light and got a simple answer, had a harder time finding questions than anything else. "novelty toy".)
