All your arguments are great (and correct) But there's also something just, way simpler that I've found to be true. Even the best AI models require so much machinery and energy just to mimic (poorly) what a single human can do with a piece of paper and a pencil, if even that. You could just pick up a rock and start drawing on any surface. If AI prompt "artists" think they're artists, good for them. But let's see you do something artistic on your own, to prove it. A digital artist is still an artist if you take away their devices. They can apply those same skills to other mediums. An AI prompt artist can't DO anything if you take away their AI, and the thing is, the AI is going to be taken away. You don't own it. You didn't create it. It's the property of a giant corporation and they're letting you use it for free (for now) because it's good marketing. It's costing them a forture to let you use it. What do you think is going to happen when they don't need to operate a loss and let you use their AI for free? Oops. What happened to your artist status, prompt artist? I guess you could always prompt a creative to create something, good luck explaining to them and the world why their creation is actually yours because you 'prompted it'.... Newsflash. That's called being a customer. You're the customer. You're just comissioning the AI to make things for you, and it can only do it with stolen art, lmao.
