People saying there is a monetary barrier for art, and that AI eliminates that monetary barrier, have clearly not done their research. For traditional art, that "monetary barrier" is around 25 to 30 dollars depending on whether you want to color or not. You can get a normal-sized sketchbook for around 15 to 20 bucks, and a couple of good mechanical pencils for less than ten, or a pack of colored pencils for around 15. That's really all you need. For digital art, whether you use a phone/tablet or a computer, you can find free drawing apps/programs that give good results, even when drawing with a mouse. One free computer program I've had good results with in the past is GIMP. If you want, you can even get a generic stylus for around 5 to 10 bucks to help you with drawing via a laptop trackpad or a phone/tablet screen.
