I finally got it! (After 2,5 years of thinking on the matter). This is as I see it the only viable scenario: 1. AI and robots take over white collar jobs, 100.000s go jobless (within 2-7 years). 2. People have no money to pay rent, so the landlords can’t afford to rent out apartments so they have to sell. (Here is the kicker, and the only thing that needs to happen) 3. The government takes over/ buys out the apartments and Loans them for Free to the needing. (Since the government now has cut their expenditures with the human layoffs, they have the means Loan these homes to the people for free). 4. Energy and heating is also free (to a reasonable amount). 5. Base Food Rations will be made by AI & Robots for the “Free People” (mega farms producing free food. Sustainable energy + robots = free labour / free food). 6. The Free People now have the time to take care of the homes they live in and each other (if they don’t, they loose their home). Summarise: Ai -> layoffs-> landlords lose apartments -> government takes over -> “Free People” can Loan homes for the cost of maintenance -> AI creates free base food from mega farms. (Maybe going towards The Venus Project). Yes this is a somewhat Socialistic solution. Sorry but it is the only solution where we / the state / the country/ the government takes responsibility and save the people from eminent death! Because capitalism sure isn’t going to help for free! Yes I’m wrong in many aspects here, to be sure. But it doesn’t change the fact, that this is the only viable solution to save society and create prosperity for the ones in need. How can we build on this? Please stress test this theory, if I’m wrong I’m wrong, if i’m not… we need to start building ASAP.
