Your point that people are selling THEMSELVES out, is spot-on. But please ask yourself this: IF the creator of Angel-tech or whatever that series is named, *had not* used generative AI, he wouldn't have got good-enough at expressing his stories enough, to begin producing his own series, would he? It's a means: a powertool. There is a fundamental rule in woodworking-education, though: learn the hand-tools, get *good* with them, & *only then* begin switching-in the powertools. Master the fundamentals. Don't just pretend that you're the one doing the creating, REALLY be creating. Once you are competent-enough to be *deciding, strategically*, where to be using powertools, then you're at a proper level. The same is true with AI: I wish that slide-rules & abacuses & those Japanese math-grid-trick things were taught to children, so they'd get a *visceral* understanding of arithmetic.. but no, "we can't afford to get them that: they can just work it out by hand, or use a digital-device" .. we rob them, of THEIR understanding, that THEIR life could be standing-on. It is the whole culture we're in, which is false-framing, pretence/superficiality is "valued", but authenticity/earned-meaning isn't.. Sorry if my keyboard is scrambled: that's a problem with the setup I'm using, & since I don't control Android's keyboard-drivers, it'll never get fixed ( doubled-chars, etc ). Same thing, though, isn't it? I'm using a powertool, & because I'm using it, I'm able to be engaging with what I'd not be able to be engaging, without powertools..
