I have seen a youtuber who has genuinely gorgeous but unfortunately ai generated pixel art thumbnails for all of their many videos (they told me themselves when I asked who made the thumbnail art in a comment) and it's so discouraging to see. Pixel artists are so talented, my brother makes amazing pixel art, and they all deserve better than to have their work stolen.
So the unfortunate thing is that it's not all ugly (not to mention how as artists we must surely recognise that art can't really be *objectively* ugly) and that's why it's important to not base your entire argument on that, because then the conversation just becomes "i think it's pretty and convenient" "well i think it's ugly".
