It's incredible... I was someone who was mocked for "having no talent" as I kept making what people would consider to be "terrible drawings." I kept at it, and eventually my work was undermined by people saying I'm "lucky to be talented." It's something I've always wanted to speak out against, this idea that the ability to draw is some kind of born talent and only "the chosen" can access it. The amount of "AI artists" who seem to champion that idea, and that generative AI is some sort of "evening ground," it's really... self-defeating. I always looked to other artists as inspiration, what I could aspire to create, a level I would like to achieve. It's too common that people take the ability of others as a strike against themselves, like "I'll never be that good so what's the point," and then build up resentment towards the craft and journey.
