Data centers are proliferating like weeds. They're a scourge on the planet and threaten affordability and quality of life for regular Americans. So, I can't understand why politicians in blue states are absolutely wet about getting them everywhere in their states - even if they provide few jobs, replace many jobs with AI, use up valuable fresh water, pollute the communities they're in, drive up our electric bills, and put electrical infrastructure at risk. They seem to have more rights than voters.
I live in very blue Maryland and I'm absolutely disgusted with Gov. Moore and the General Assembly for pushing these down our throats with no real citizen engagement. I have to assume that there are massive kickbacks at play. I'm a lifelong Democrat, but I'm done with these corporate Democrats as well as the Republicans who are all in bed with big tech. Tax them, not us and put these monstrosities in THEIR back yards!
