Many businesses closed up during the Pandemic and there was a domino effect which is still ongoing and will continue with cities now having many empty buildings that aren't bringing revenue into the government forcing them to eliminate positions. The 24 hour police service in one city I'm aware of adopted a policy called "The Purge." Unless you are threatened with death nobody is coming between certain hours of the night, usually when murders are committed!!! The city said it is a trend that they don't know how to turn around.
