Yeah the new AI ruling is beyond stupid. I was actually onboard with it and thinking it would be a good thing until they got to the example where the lady drew a complete artwork and only had AI color it in and it was denied copyright. The law is entirely too subjective and arbitrary. It will be totally random whether you get copyright or not if you did anything at all with AI, which honestly isn't realistic at all nowadays. AI is in everything, probably even the beat box you use.
I worry the whole concept of IP and Copyright is just dying... maybe that's not such a bad thing. Then the big record labels can't use it as a weapon to beat honest artists over the head because they weren't omniscient.
