The thing is that we already have this. It's called a train. The same thing was talked about when trains started to move stuff across the country. It was cheaper and the time it took was shorter. I have not seen this technology and don't think that the way that they are going about it is going to work. The problem is that people drive cars. They don't do what they are supposed to do. They do what they want to do. So unless you have lanes that are truck only lanes. This is not going to work. And the fact that people still have to drive the truck for the last of the trip makes the system hard to implement. Do we need to make things safer. No, we need to make cars less technical. We need to have less things to take the attention of the driver. Do you really need a movie to go to the store? Do you really need to have turn by turn directions to go to the store? If you don't know where you are going then you should not try to go there. I use a paper map. I talk to people to get turn by turn. Then I follow the route. Yes I get lost. I have a phone and can call and figure it out. The thing is I always know what is going on around my car at all times because I look out the windows and see it.
