We've all heard and seen what dangers films like the Terminator have shown about ai and its potential. Whether now or somewhere in 150 years time, its inevitable. Technology will just keep progressing, machines will continually grow to become more sophisticated, especially as long as we are still around to help implement them. Frankly, the way the real world is now, i worry that humanity might be that careless. Not entirely sure what it is in the past few years, but I really do think as a species we're growing more vein and corrupt generally (i know I certainly am). Just look at the covid pandemic, we had a chance to really take a step back and reflect. But did we really learn anything overall? Nope. Just went back to killing each other, polluting the planet, draining resources and being driven by power and profit, obcessing over trivial things, same as before. As far as politics, I mean look at what Putin did to Ukraine, bombarded the hell out of it with bombs and started killing its citizens. Russia is the largest country in the world, plenty of territory, leave them alone! Anyone disagrees with him? Throws them in jail. then there's Trump: an orange-faced, convicted felon and sex offender promoting inequality with dual-gender laws, condemning hard working people from being able to come and make a better life for themselves. Saying things like "officially recognizing Gaza as belonging to israel", thereby driving the wedge further between jews and palestinians. Musk doing nazi salutes because he thinks its funny. Asad, the fallen dictator, with all the horrific things he did in Syria to his own people (chemical weapons!) and is now hiding from justice like a coward. Something is going seriously wrong somewhere down the line and if we're too arrogant to take good hard look at ourselves and our own nature when it matters, we may find it'll lead to our end
