If you are a software developer, then you likely went from smiling at GPT 3.5s attempt to write a simple python script to being shocked at GPT 5.1s ability to write a full app. If you are a software developer, you also understand that most apps are for niche products that don't need to be perfect to help a business save money.
If you still think AI is not going to be disruptive, you are likely not a software developer.
