I think one of the unmentioned challenges of AI is learning how ubiquitous its applications are. It's not intuitive to suppose one can mathematically model the appearance of a dog or a cat in much the same way we mathematically model dynamic systems like projectiles. AI is the formulating of equations through parameterization, not intelligence perse; however, you need to realize everything organisms do is perfectly analgous to mathematics. I could take an input X=<visual and textual data> in this comments section and write an output, y=<a textual response>. If you can learn to see the mundane as mathematics, you'll understand how powerful AI can be
