It goes both ways, humans in the future might choose mechanical augmentations to prolong their lifespan or for self improvement. When someone turns 90%, or even more, mechanical, possibly the person's thoughts are just stored on a computer, what's the difference between that and an AI robot? And if AI could be given biological bodies that could feel biological pain?
