I'm a software engineer and I'm desperately trying to pay off my mortgage ASAP to be able to justify quitting. My coworkers are all in this group think where they somehow thing that automating their work with their friend Claud is good, despite the fact they are training him to take their job. Not to mention the environmental cost of basically every software engineer vibe coding 8 hours a day. I feel like I am the only one who sees the problem here, and I'm just not willing to stay in this industry long-term given the direction it has suddenly pivoted in.
