I love having access to AI art. About 80 percent of the time I can have an image quickly generated that meets my needs, or can be made to suit in minutes with photoshop.
I have no artistic talent and do not have the resources to hire a human, so if I want illustrations of my ideas, this is it.
Prompting an AI is a skill, but it's not being an artist in my opinion.
As far as 'theft' I don't buy it. I've never met an artist that didn't learn by studying other art, often tracing other art for the sake of practice, sometimes watching other artist's make art, all to learn. I've never met an artist who developed their skills in a proverbial closed room. AI does what humans do, just faster.
