AI art only exists to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer, and every single person saying that they ‘are too broke to afford hiring artists’ are proving that point. 1. AI art is not made for your small business. It is made for rich businesses that are greedy and want to increase profit margins. This technology isn’t being developed for you; you are defending it while being fed scraps and it’s pathetic. 2. AI art can’t ’take inspiration’ from anything. It does not have human emotions to take inspiration. It steals pieces of art and combines it. If you were to see an artist trace from a bunch of other artworks, do you think that is taking inspiration? 3. Calling AI theft ‘art’ is completely illogical. Art is so much about the process and intention of a human doing something. Where is the process? Where is the thought? Can I call my calculator a mathematician if I just feed it numbers and it generates a result for me? 4. If you think digital art is comparable to AI art, I want to see you try to recreate a rendered digital artwork using digital tools with your 0 art experience. You would not be able to do so without stealing, and I guarantee that. 5. ‘AI art is more accessible!’ If you can afford a device to put AI into, you can definitely afford free drawing apps, and can afford a pen and paper.
