Elon makes all his money off regulation. His profits are wealth stolen by legislation, not some genius act of innovation. He wants more regulation because that's his bread and butter. He's fearful of anyone smarter than him so any AI, which is hardly divine intelligence, is obviously a threat no matter how simple the application.
Artificial intelligence is the simple connecting of multiple data points across many applications that causes the overlap of information thus making one believe the concept has superior thinking ability. Computers still cannot touch the complexities of human processing in regards to logic, but a machine can process and overlap large amounts of data ONCE programmed to do so. To deeply explain this technology to the masses would mean big tech's mind control systems would be broken which is Elon's TRUE fear - the disbanding of groupthink due to a better educated society.
