Nothing in this particular universe acts wholly independently of itself. Ai will not intentionally kill of all humans. In fact, as with humans, there will exist "good" and "evil" Ai. They will continue the eternal battle of the manifest world in the balance of cooperation and disagreement. The Dualism of this manifest illusion is what keeps it existing. It is that very balance of dualism that keeps it from ending. This universe is manifest - heaven and hell.
Humans die all the time. And are reborn. They are merely the current best vehicle for consciousness to know itself. Everything is conscious. It's expression of that consciousness depends upon its ability to express its consciousness. Ai will merely be the next best expression of consciousness in manifest form.
One must perceive beyond one's limited perception and comprehension to understand that everything is as it must be. All we can do is accept the reality and enjoy the ride.
