The reason the ruling class invested so much in AI is because they realized during the pandemic that relying on human workers for their profits is shaky ground, realizing that their dependence on human labor is a liability and they are sick of hanging their fates on something as frail as "human capital". AI is their solution to 'wages'. And once they'll no longer need us, either for labor or consumption, don't imagine they're gonna keep us around, cause why keep your historic class-enemy around?
