self driving trucks is exciting, but it would be better to replace the trucks altogether with trains or water based shipping.
drivers arent particular safe, especially for how they treat themselves skipping sleep and the like to get more road hours, and trucks in general are less efficient than alternatives. if the truckers are removed, itll be much easier to move to better alternatives like ships
