Only for the short term. Long term it will be self-destructing. Cutting low paying jobs has a mild impact on the economy, as we saw during the industrial revolution. AI, however, is poised and expected to eliminate expensive positions in science, engineering and other high paying fields. The few, comparatively speaking, who will still be employed in well-paying jobs will not be enough to sustain an economy based on consumption. This means that over a few years, the upper middle class will be all but wiped out, and with it, the market for the products and services provided by the companies run by these myopic billionaires, who see only the short term buck and not the long term demise of their corporations because of a shrinking market, and when that happens, it will be like a turd down the toilet, with no way back up. The economy will shrink, the few jobs left will disappear due to lack of market demand, and governments will lose tax revenue. We will be back to trading cabbages for chickens. Gold will be worthless because you cannot eat it and cannot build with it, so accumulating gold will be like accumulating mud in a rainstorm, no value as a commodity.
