Just as many have taken a paranoid position that AI wil be the end of the world, this guy comes across as the exact opposite extreme. He just doesn't care, or is willing to risk armageddon for his own personal gain. He insults our intelligence by taking a nonchalant view of AI, and makes it sound as if you are crazy to think that AI COULD cause the end of the world, because it doesn't have a conscience. AI doesn't NEED a conscience. It just needs to have an objective, and an algorithm that says "accomplish that objective in the most efficient way possible." Or, someone could use AI to develope a virus that kills 100% of those it infects. There are variables and tangents that this guy is just willfully ignoring. He does NOT appear to be a good-faith actor.
