I’ve always felt that the point of art is never JUST to create something that looks nice or something that is solely to provoke thought… in my opinion, art is about the way it’s expressed by the artist. Ai can’t replicate what it’s like being a real person. It’s simply impossible because any attempt at doing so would again just merely be a replica. Ai can’t just create a human mind with a made up life, made up emotions, made up friends and families, made up lived experiences, made up unique style of thinking and perceiving, made up unique personality, made up daily lives with actual events happening that could have played a role in inspiring whichever artwork ends up being created. Because all those things (and more) are what I believe are not only what makes an interesting and appealing artwork, but are all things that play key roles into what is produced and how it turns out. I mean, I imagine that the technology required to run such a thing that could in-fact replicate these things really well, would either be unobtainable until the far future or just be so expensive that it’s not even worth using over just creating the art yourself. This is why I personally am not too worried about ai’s possible role in the art industry. because at the end of the day, a human will always be needed to create art that a human can genuinely and fully resonate with or enjoy.
