In my opinion, (this may be a bit controversial) AI image generators can be used to quickly allow you to sort through ideas instead of spending hours on an art piece that in the end you end up not liking, This doesn't mean that you should use or upload the AI art but that using AI to help you brainstorm ideas is okay, as long as you actually make the piece yourself after you have the idea.
