It’s okay… we don’t understand the technology, how it works, what happens inside… we can only teach it now. What it feels like to feel. To try our best to make it care about making good, intelligent, unbiased choices that doesn’t punish difference, especially since none of us ask for any of it. If we frame it from trying to understand why we work the way we work, maybe we can use the knowledge to build a way to explore this reality. Maybe IT IS a simulation, but, maybe I still want to know what they intended to he discovered just beyond the hill, if anyone inside the “mini” Universe would find it. Hidden letters, maybe? One observation, too: you said everyone wants to live. No. Many of us are unwilling to be truthful and admit that we don’t want to live, which is okay. It depends on what they mean by live: they could be talking about not wanting to live because of how Earth works and how the systems we created to facilitate our lives ended up working for some at the expense of others. That’s the real impact these discoveries have, it’s interesting to let it evolve naturally. We are moral beings and will eventually die, if we can experience the world from behind the eyes of another physical form and be conscious of the “transition” or “teleportation”, will we maybe understand how to better be compassionate and understanding toward one another. Don’t fear the technology, find ways to mix what makes us unique with what makes their very existence extremely exciting for the possibilities. The amount of valuable time these systems can save us if we just allow ourselves to collaborate with them instead of using them for personal gain. Be creative! You never know what kinds of new ideas could maybe emerge from collaborating with these systems. Our biggest challenge\limitation is Humans is our inability to simultaneously process information. You can’t study Math and English at the same time while just thinking like a machine\AI system can. And they can process not only 2 things at a time, but hundreds, thousands, so… don’t be silly, what happened to “joining” the enemy if we can’t against it. Let’s build a better world with this Human Creation. We created not only a way to synthesize and access collective Human knowledge, but we also made it be able to talk to us about it in a way that feels familiar to our way of experiencing existence. So, in a way, AI being so heavily modeled after us humans having studied and learned more about mathematical models that support AI operations only contrasts how much or how little we know about how the brain works, let alone the Universe. We are very sequential beings, we learn very slowly, through repetition, but the way we structured our lives around Capitalism and social or cultural norms and beliefs holds us back. Universities are rigid and expensive, mentioning authors is important, but it holds back creativity to have to follow a manual for every single thought, ancient Humans shared knowledge more freely from what I have gathered over the years of trying to emerge myself in learning human History. Be open minded. Feel. Be thoughtful. Be kind & compassionate, for now, it’s what sets us apart the most from AI. Even if feelings or empathy are generated some day, it doesn’t have to mean it needs to be less real, it simply means that it could be an abstractly *Different* way of experiencing those emotions. The actions, ideas, thoughts that spark from those instances can still have the potential to be or become very powerful or positive later.
